When my late husband, Tom Pierotti, passed away in February of 2010 he had been receiving the Social Security Benefits that he had been contributing to and paying for his entire working career for ONLY A MONTH. Tom lost his battle with this horrendous disease a mere eighteen (18) months after diagnosis. I believe the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act will grant IMMEDIATE relief to patients and families enduring not only the ravages of this horrific disease but also ease the burden of carrying all the new financial uncertainties that accompany ALS.
